Obituary of Cecil Ann Walls

Cecil Ann Walls, age 75 of Chadds Ford, PA, passed away on April 8, 2022.  Born in Chester and raised in Chadds Ford, PA, Cecil Ann was a resident of Chadds Ford for the past 9 years. She previously resided in La Cañada, CA for many years, where she raised her family. She received her bachelor's degree from Immaculata University and completed anesthesia school at Chester County Hospital. She was a Nurse Anesthetist for 30 years, working at Kaiser Permanente Sunset in Los Angeles for nearly her entire career, with many beloved friends and colleagues. She loved her chosen profession and felt it was her calling to help relieve people’s pain. Cecil Ann was devoted to her faith as a member of St. Bede the Venerable and, later, St. Cornelius Catholic Church.  Cecil Ann loved to cook and bake and could often be found in the kitchen making something delicious. She also loved to quilt, read voraciously, and loved a good bagel, lox, and cream cheese. In her younger days, she traveled the world and spent time on the hospital ship Project Hope, helping provide much needed medical care in Brazil. She loved her family, most especially her husband Edward, who she said was her soul mate even after 42 years of marriage. They were meant to be together after meeting on an airplane and striking up a conversation over an organic chemistry textbook. Later, they’d extend their conversation over an omelet breakfast in the Denver airport.

In addition to her parents, Cecil and Amelia (Gobber) Walls, Cecil Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Hukoveh who passed in November of 2020, a son, Gregory Hukoveh who passed at birth, and a brother, Valentine Walls.  She is survived by 2 children, Amelia (Kristen) Hukoveh and Matthew Hukoveh, siblings, Deborah Schaefer, John Walls, and Emily Harris, and two grandchildren, Bryce and Shane Hukoveh. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 13 from 10:30-11:00am at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Interment, with her late husband, will be held privately at Lawn Croft Cemetery.  Donations in her memory may be made to St. Cornelius at the above address.
