Obituary of Mary Lucy Doluszycki

Mary Lucy Doluszycki, age 101 of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on March 25, 2022 at Rose Court at Maris Grove Senior Living. She was born in South Philadelphia, PA to Victor and Josephine D'Ambrosio Maglio. Mary left high school in the 1940's to attend a trade school where she learned to become a seamstress. She then opened a millinery shop in the St. James Hotel in Center City Philadelphia, making stylish hats for women. Mary enjoyed creating hats similar to those being shown in fashionable New York City. Mary then married Joseph Doluszycki in 1946, and lived in Northeast Philadelphia for many years. She had a long career with Strawbridge & Clothier as their shop-at-home interior decorator; it was a career she successfully enjoyed for many years until her retirement in 1983. Mary and Joe traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as internationally, including Canada and Europe. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters. Mary moved to the Maris Grove retirement community in Glen Mills in 2010. She celebrated her 101st birthday in December 2021. Mary was a loving aunt to her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Doluszycki, sisters, Lucy Camarote (Daniel), Ann Hanley (Joseph), and Julia DeChristoforo (Joseph), brothers, Vito (Mary), Pat (Claire), Albert (Cass), and John (Jean) Maglio. A visitiation will be held on Wednesday, April 6th from 9-10AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd, Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by a Memorial Mass at 10AM.
