Obituary of Charles N. Griffin, Jr.

Charles N. "Butch" Griffin, Jr., age 75 of Garnet Valley passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022 at home. Born in Wilmington, DE, Charles was raised and spent most of his life in Bethel Township, previously residing in Concord Township. He was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church and was a F&AM with the Concord Masonic Lodge 625. For the past 15 years, Charles worked as a fire equipment salesman for Witmer Public Safety Corporation. He was a life-long member of the Bethel Hose Company 1, where he volunteered as a fire fighter and was a former Bethel Township Fire Marshall, as well as Concordville Fire Department where he was the past Chief Officer for 4 decades. When Charles was not at the fire house, he enjoyed other hobbies such as hunting at State College and playing a good game of softball for the fire company league. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles N., Sr. and Orpha J. (Weller) Griffin and is survived by 6 children, Shelly (Matt) Murphy, Charles N. (Karen) Griffin, III, Verna "Toni" (Mike) Trainor, Nancy (Robert) Gober, Joanne "Bo" (Reuben) West, Dominick "DJ" (Sara) Griffin, brother, Robert Griffin, 9 grandchildren, Alexandria, Edward, Kimberly, Verna, Mike, David, Dominick, Michela, and Curz, as well as a great granddaughter, Gracesin. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, March 28, 2022, 6:00-8:00PM followed by Masonic service at 8:00PM at Pagano Funeral Home 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA and Tuesday morning, 10:00-11:00AM followed by funeral services at 11:00AM. Interment, Siloam United Methodist Cemetery in Garnet Valley.
