Obituary of Helen N. Gerovasiliou

Helen N. Gerovasiliou, age 83, of Concord Twp., Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA to Angelo and Alexandra, Helen was a 40 year resident of Concord Township in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Helen was a graduate from Bartram High School and received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Temple University. As a kindergarten teacher in the Rose Tree Media School district, Helen inspired students for over 30 years before retiring in the early 1990's. Her students and their families would often become life long friends and spoke very highly of their kindergarten teacher. Her students described her as dedicated and kind. She was devoted to her Greek Orthodox faith and was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Media, Pennsylvania. She also taught Sunday School. She was very proud of her Greek Heritage and travelled to Greece often. In retirement, she started the Pet Set Grooming business in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania. She loved to dance, loved music and loved her family. Helen is survived by her husband, Vasilios Gerovasiliou, her two sons, Athan and Lee and her two grandchildren, Yuri and Eleni. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, from 10-11AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 E. Forge Rd., Media, PA followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment will remain private.
