Obituary of Rodger J. Williams

Rodger J. Williams, age 74 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away on February 8, 2022 at home. Born and raised in Philadelphia to William & Clara Williams, he has resided in Garnet Valley since 2010, previously residing in North East, Phila. A Firefighter with the Philadelphia Fire Department for 27 years, he retired in 2005. He also was a member of the Philadelphia Retired Firefighters Association of the IAFF Local 22. Rodger was devoted to his Christian faith and enjoyed reading the bible. He was a fan of oldies music as well. Rodger served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed in the Philippines. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Boyts Williams who died in 2020 and 8 siblings, his twin brother Ed, Joe, Walter, Harry and 2 brothers who died as an infant and sisters, Claire & Dorothy. He is survived by 3 children, Nicole (Brian) O'Reilly, Brooke Williams, Rodger (Kate) Williams Jr. and 5 stepchildren, Richard Sunday Jr., Barbara (Stephen) Rucci, Catherine (Bob) Bonsall, Renee (Mike) Strehle & Christine (Lenny) Villari, 2 brothers, Fred Williams & John Williams, 15 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on February 16, 2020 Wednesday, 9:00-10:30AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 10:30AM. Interment, Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Donations in his memory may be made to Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate).
