Obituary of Jean A. Schwartz

Surrounded by her loving family, Jean A. Schwartz, age 75 of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022 at her daughter's home in Macungie, PA. She was born to Howard D. and Margaret C. Ward Grider in Upland, PA, and was raised in Linwood PA. Jean resided the past 48 years in Claymont, DE., previously residing in Havertown, PA. A 1964 graduate of Chichester High School, Jean worked as a secretary for EDIS Company until her retirement at age 70. Devoted to her faith, she was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Claymont, DE where she was a member of the craft group. She enjoyed time spent with her friends, the "Chi Chicks", as well as traveling. Jean was also a member of the "Beyond 50 " group at her gym where she enjoyed exercising. Jean always loved gardening, baking cookies, and spending time with her family and friends. Spending time at the beach and trips with her family were the highlights of each year. No day would be complete without her bowl of ice cream and her cat, Lucy, purring on her lap. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by sister, Margaret Elaine Smith. She is survived by her husband Melvin, three children, Margaret "Margie" (Gregory) Skibinski, Stephen (Cindy Fox) Schwartz, and Matthew (Rebecca) Schwartz, her brother, Howard Grider, Sr., eight grandchildren; Bridget, Maggie, Jared , Keith, Nadia, Erin, Jack, and Annie. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, 6-8PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA and again on Thursday at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE from 9:30-10:15AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:30AM.
