Obituary of Carol A. Melchior

Carol A. Melchior, age 85 of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away at her son's home in Springfield, PA on December 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Philadelphia to Wilbur and Gertrude Carroll Schopf, Carol has resided for the past year at Naamans Creek Country Manor in Garnet Valley, PA, previously residing in Kennett Square and Springfield, PA. Carol earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at West Chester University and went on to earn her Master's in Education at Temple Univerity. In addition to her career as a teacher, she also was a homemaker devoted to her home and family. Carol was known for her loving personality and she capured the attention upon entering a room. A devoted grandmother, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and school activites. In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by two of her siblings, Roger Schopf and Mary Jean Treftz. She is survived by her three children, Bryce Melchior, Fred (Lori) Melchior and Kim (Randall) Caldwell, her brother, Walter Schopf and nine grandchildren.
