Obituary of Dorothy G. Jacobs

Dorothy G. "Dotty" Jacobs, age 79, of Newtown Square, PA passed away peacefully on December 18, 2021. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, Dotty was raised and educated in Havertown, PA. She has resided over 50 years in Newtown Square, PA. Dotty graduated from Haverford H.S. and was employed by American Seating Co. when she met the love of her life, Fred "Jake" Jacobs. From there Dotty was employed for 37 years with the Newtown Township Police Department in Newtown Square, PA where she currently held the title of Administrative Assistant. Dot was active throughout her years where she was past Committee Woman for the Newtown Twp. Republican Party. She enjoyed ceramics, making beaded jewelry and riding on her husband's motorcycle, especially with the "Blue Knights Motorcycle Club." Her favorite pastime was spending time with her husband Fred, at their cabin in Potter County. In addition to her parents, William L. Dickel Jr. and Carolyn Grace Dickel, Dotty is preceded in death by her husband, Fredric Jacobs who died in 2011 and a brother-in-law, Hal Roedel. Dot is survived by her 4 stepchildren, Robert (Cheryl) Jacobs, Cathleen (Scott) Marohn, Laurel (Bob) McVaugh and Bonnie Jacobs (Ted), a sister, Jo Roedel, a nephew, Stephen, and 2 nieces, Diane Roedel-Brown (Steve) and Karen DiRienzo, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28th from 9:30-11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
