Obituary of Lucille D. Cooper

Lucille D. Cooper, age 90 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on November 27, 2021 at Sunrise of Wilmington. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, she resided for the past five years in Wilmington, previously residing in Glen Mills, PA. Lucille was a graduate of Patterson Park High in Baltimore, MD, Class of 1950. She received her associate's degree in business from Delaware Technical Community College in Wilmington, DE. She was an Administrative Assistant for DuPont Chemical for nine and half years. Lucille was a member of St. Cornelius parish and a member of Parents Without Partners, Chapter 1015. She belonged to the Brandywine Valley Quilters group and enjoyed quilting, knitting, needlepoint, cross stitch and was known for being a talented seamstress. Lucille had a keen sense of humor, loved dancing and music from the Big Band era of the 1950s. She was also an avid bowler. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Delvecchio Dipaola, her daughter, Lisa Gordon who passed in 2020 and her brother, Salvatore Dipaola. She is survived by her two daughters, Monica (Patrick) Casey, Mary Jo (Richard) Grier; her seven grandchildren, Julia (Sean) Read, Ryan & Timothy Casey, Michelle (Matthew) Frampton, Jennifer Gordon, Michael & Samatha Grier; her great granddaughter, Evelyn. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a memorial liturgy at 10:30 AM. Interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Lucille's memory to the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society.
