Obituary of Charles J. McHugh

Charles J. "Bud" McHugh, age 91 of Boothwyn, PA passed away on November 22, 2021 at Crozer Hospice at Taylor Hospital. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Bud resided in Boothwyn for the past 19 years, previously residing in Folcroft, PA. Bud attended St. Tommy Moore High School and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a warehouse manager at Derr Flooring company in Philadelphia for over 40 years before retiring in 1989. In his retirement, Bud worked as a crossing guard in the Southeast Delaware County School District and Chichester School District from 1995-2015. Bud served as member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Savior Council 13710 as a 4th degree Knight. He was a founding father and is in the Hall of Fame for the Folcroft Boys Club; Serving as a past President, as well as holding various board positions for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Mary Kealy McHugh Jensen, Bud is preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris L. Griffin McHugh, who passed in 2014, and a sister, Mary. He is survived by 3 children; Dennis (Lois) McHugh, Keith (Maureen Beth) McHugh, and Diane (Jeff Halt) McHugh-Halt, 6 grandchildren; Chrystin (Tom), Laura (Joe), Jackie (PJ), Jason (Shelby), Kelly (Alex), and Allison (Greg), 6 great-grandchildren; Joey, PJ IV, Charlie, Harper, Charlie, and Bode, and a sister, Patricia (Bob Campbell) Ward McCauley Campbell. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, 9:15-10:15AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment, S.S.
