Obituary of Viola A. Babiarz

Viola A. Babiarz, age 97, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2021 at Rose Court at Maris Grove. She lived all of her life in the Wilmington, DE area. After graduating from P.S. Dupont High School, she was hired by the Bureau of Internal Revenue Service. Viola worked there for 9 years before joining the family business, Eddie's Market, a corner grocery store in Wilmington, DE. Devoted to her faith, she was a member of Church of the Holy Child and formerly St. Stanislaus Kostka Church where she was very active. In addition to her parents, Peter and Anna Arciszewski Olszewski, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Babiarz, two brothers, Dr. Edward Olson and Dr. Raymond Owens, three sisters, Helen Emory, Wanda Stawicki and Elva Fish. Viola is survived by her two children, Edward J. (Laura) Babiarz Jr. and Richard P. (Peggy) Babiarz, five grandchildren; Joshua Babiarz, PhD, Elizabeth Russell, Dr. Katherine King, Amy Waldron, and Emily Stengel, seven great grandchildren, Jackson and Kathleen Babiarz, Ethan and Grant Russell, Finn and Ryder Waldron, and Bennett Stengel. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 10-11 AM at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd, Wilmington, DE followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. Donations in Viola's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
