Obituary of Dorothy Mae Jones

Dorothy Mae Jones, age 74, of Boothwyn, PA passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Born in Upland, PA and raised in Marcus Hook, PA, she was a lifelong resident of Boothwyn, PA. A graduate of Media High School, Class of 1965, she was an office administrative assistant in the lumber yard at DELCO Supply for over 20+ years. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Union Gospel Missionary Church where she had been a board member, church secretary-treasurer and enjoyed the ladies Bible study group. She was a volunteer at MADD, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and the Hephzibah Children's Home. Dorothy loved cooking Sunday dinners and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, John Thomas and Dorothy Mae Congleton Hickey, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sharpless Jones, who passed away in 2011, and her three brothers, Robert, Charles and Raymond Hickey. Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Matt) Ozmer, Debra (Brooks) Lyons, and Denise (Jerry Davis) Jones; her six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jacob, Jerry, Gavin, Brianna, and Savannah. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 12-1 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's honor to the Union Gospel Missionary Church, 1117 Market St., Marcus Hook, PA 19061.
