Obituary of Hubert Voisine
Hubert “Gil” “Frenchie” Voisine has gone to be with the love of his life M. Theresa (Plourde) Voisine. He passed away on September 7, 2021 at Foulk Manor North in Wilmington, DE He was born in Fort Kent, Maine and lost his mother when he was 8. He left the farm at the age of 14 and struck out on his own. He finally ended up in Millinocket where he met Theresa and they were married for 70 years. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Anne Powell of Thornton, PA, grandson, Craig Powell of Downingtown, PA, granddaughter, Tracy Powell and her husband David Eschmann of North Chili, NY, plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Isabelle (Charette) Voisine and Phoedime Voisine, and several brothers and sisters. Gil served his country in the National Guard and worked as a pipe fitter for the Great Northern Paper Co. until he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Finn and Feather for a number of years and a long standing member (53 years) of Elks Lodge #1521. He belonged to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (Christ the Divine Mercy Parish) where he was usually an usher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp and was always designing and building things. A mass and burial in Millinocket will be at a later date for both Gil and Theresa.
