Lois Rumbold

Obituary of Lois F. Rumbold

Lois F. Rumbold peacefully made her way to heaven on September 9, 2021. In her 87 years of life, Lois was the most kind and caring person to any and all who happened to cross paths with her. Born in Philadelphia, Lois later moved to Upland. In Upland, she made lifelong friends before settling down at her favorite place, her home in Brookhaven, where she resided since 1957. Lois took meticulous care of her garden and loved watching all the happenings on the street from her front step. After graduating from Eddystone High School in 1951, Lois worked as a secretary at Sun Ship. She left her job in 1958 to become a full time mom and homemaker. Becoming “Mom” and later “Mom Mom” were her favorite titles she would possess, aside from “Wade’s Wife”.

She loved spending precious time with her family, cooking their favorite meals, baking cakes for every birthday, playing uno, puzzles of any kind and having her grandchildren over for Friday night sleepovers. She also looked forward to family vacations in the Outer Banks each year. When Lois was not busy gardening, she enjoyed sewing. She was an expert seamstress making her own wedding dress, and special occasion dresses for her family including her daughter’s wedding dress and crocheting blankets for her loved ones.

Lois was the beloved wife of Wade H. Rumbold Jr. for 52 wonderful years until his death in 2008. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Dorothea Fellman. Lois was predeceased by her brother, Stu Fellman and her son-in-law, Albert Paoletti. She is survived by her brothers Ronny (Susie) and Russ (Ruth) and sisters-in-law Judy and Mabel, her children Ellen and Mark (Bonnie), grandchildren Jessica (Matthew), Dominick Wade, and Erika and her great grandson Hudson Wade who she was able to meet, a goal she had spoken about for years leading up to his arrival.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lois’ name to the Brookhaven Fire Company, 2 Cambridge Rd., Brookhaven, PA 19015. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
