Obituary of Nick L. DeShullo

Nick L. DeShullo, age 74 of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Born in Chester, PA, he was raised & educated in Boothwyn, PA. Nick had resided in Garnet Valley, PA for the past 18 years, previously residing in Wallingford, PA. He was a Class of 1965 graduate of Chichester High School, afterwards serving in the U.S. Army. Nick was a Sergeant E-5 in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. He was employed in Commercial Pipe Sales as well as the owner and operator along with his wife with 2 stores, Temptations Ice Cream Café located in the Concord Mall and Trolley Square in Wilmington, DE. Devoted to his faith, Nick was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church. He was also a member of Delaware Veterans Post #1, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Nick was also a member of Boothwyn Fire Company #40. He enjoyed summers at Fenwick Island, DE and especially loved the Christmas holiday traditions, hosting family and friends for the past 30 years. Nick enjoyed fishing, taking many cruises, and cherished his memories with family and friends, including his devoted pet dog "Killer". Nick is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Mildred Casson DeShullo. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Ann Kubla DeShullo, his siblings, Jane (Jack) Williams, Margaret "Peggy" Keegan, Thomas (Jill) DeShullo, Marie Mulaney, and his many nieces, nephews and In-laws. The family wishes to acknowledge, Dr. Koka and staff, Dr. Adesman, Dr. Flynn and all the employees at the Fusion Center of Crozer Hospital, especially Nicole, Ashley, Brent, Bonnie, and Kathy for their compassionate care. A special thank you to the Crozier EMT's and Bethel Fire Company. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, from 9-10AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave, Boothwyn, PA. Interment, Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Donations in his memory may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America (www.vva.org/donate) or the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
