Obituary of Salvatore Spinelli

Salvatore Spinelli, age 78 of North Wilmington, DE passed away on September 6, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. Born and raised in Naples, Italy, Salvatore immigrated to the United States over 50 years ago. He resided over 30 years in North Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Florida. As a restauranteur, he owned an operated his own restaurants. He later worked for Sweeney's Bakery in Wilmington, DE. Salvatore enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking bread, and making wine. In addition to his parents, Giuseppe and Filomena Costagliola Spinelli, Salvatore is preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lancisi. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Giulia Conte Spinelli, 3 children; Rosa (Bill) Kennedy, Filomena (Charlie) Bishop, and Giuseppe (Britney) Spinelli, 2 brothers; Michele Spinelli and Gennaro Spinelli, 2 sisters, Maria Puppat and Rosa Bonazza, and 3 grandchildren; Anthony Kennedy, and Salvatore and Dominic Spinelli. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, from 9:30-11:00AM, at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral liturgy at 11AM.
