Obituary of Patricia S. Brown

Patricia, age 79, went to be with the angels in heaven, surrounded by her loving family on August 22, 2021.

Born to William and June Smith on March 11, 1942, Pat was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and the Keystone Business School. Pat began her career as an incredible stay at home mother until her girls were grown and then worked for Anzilotti Orthodontics for 16 years before retiring to travel with her husband, George, for his job with Scott Paper and to help raise her grandchildren.

Pat and George were high school sweethearts who were together six years before marrying on May 5, 1962. They grew their beautiful family together and spent many date nights having dinners together or out with their friends. Pat and George were amazing dancers, especially when on the dance floor together. Pat enjoyed spending most of her days at home with her husband, George, and her cat, Sarah. She was an avid video gamer, TJ Maxx shopper, and rum and coke drinker, but only after 5:00pm on the dot. Her favorite part of her day was in the evening when she could take her bath and get into one of her robes. Pat loved her family and cherished spending time with them or keeping in touch with them by calling or texting from her iPhone. She loved sharing her memories and stories about her life and the lives of her relatives. She was very proud of her family history and making sure it stayed alive. Pat was a very elegant and well put together woman, always dressed to the nines in beautiful clothes and jewelry. Pat kept an immaculate home - always cleaning, upgrading, and shopping for the newest decor. Her doors, phone, and heart were always open for anyone to visit or call at any hour. She was easy-going and always made sure her family felt so loved. Pat also enjoyed spending time outside in her yard and garden, where her statue of the Blessed Mother stood. She was a devout Catholic and believer in angels and saints who prayed on her rosary beads every day. She ended every phone conversation with "God bless you" and "I love you". Pat was an incredibly loving, sweet, determined, and strong woman who was loved by many.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, William and June Smith, her sister, Deidre Minutella, and her son-in-law, Mark W. Ludvigson. Patricia is survived by her husband of 60 years, George F. Brown III, her daughters, Kelly Brown Ludvigson and Patty Brown, her sisters, June Toth (Michael) and Colette Mitchell (Jay), her brother-in law, Robert Brown (Pat), her grandchildren, Emily Schaffer (Scott), Shelby Valentine (Chris), Mark W. Ludvigson Jr., Alexis Marchiani, her great-grandchildren, Madeline, Savannah, Lydia, Jude and her great-grandson Grayson W. Schaffer. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of Pat's life and Christian Mass at St. Joseph on the Brandywine, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE 19807 on Saturday, August 28, 2021 9:15 – 10:00am followed by a Catholic Mass and burial.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Archmere Academy, 3600 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, in Patricia's name in honor of her three grandchildren; Emily '07, Shelby '10, Mark Jr. '18. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
