Obituary of Anthony W. Weaver III

Anthony W. Weaver III, age 92 of Bear, DE passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021 at Shipley Manor, Wilmington, DE. Born in Upland, PA and raised in Delaware County, Anthony resided over 2 years in Bear, DE, previously residing in Millsboro, DE and Coral Springs, FL. A mechanic, Anthony was employed with the Philadelphia Navy Yard for many years before retiring. He attended Media High School and afterwards served his country in the Army Air Force. Anthony was a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro, DE. He had a passion for boating, fishing, hunting and woodworking. He also enjoyed spending his free time reading and was known as a Civil War buff. In addition to his parents, Anthony W. Jr and Elizabeth Williams Weaver, Anthony is preceded in death by his 3 wives, Mary Ann Weaver (nee Elder), Grace Weaver (nee Sipple) and Virginia McLaughlin-Weaver and 2 siblings, Betty Coalson and Alfred Weaver. Anthony is survived by his children, Wayne Weaver (Donna), Joyce Chilcote, Cathy Callahan (Pete), Neil McLaughlin (Jennifer), Carol Fisher (David) and Susan Hyatt (Thomas), 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, 9:30-11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by Funeral Services at 11:00AM. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Edgewood Memorial Park. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
