Obituary of Ruth A. Swartz

Ruth A. Swartz, age 95, longtime resident of Linwood, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Fort Payne, Alabama, surrounded by family. She was born in Flemington, PA to Albert and Rebecca Allen Young. Devoted to her faith, Ruth was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church, where she was an Assistant Sunday School teacher and, after moving to Alabama in 2014, she joined Fort Payne Family Worship Center. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn R. "Bud" Swartz, Sr., 2 sons, Glenn Swartz Jr., and Clarence Eugene Swartz, sons-in-law, Eddie Frank Jackson and Lewis Reynolds, daughter-in-law, Mildred Swartz, 7 brothers, Carl, George, Harold, Clarence, Charles, Wilbur and Kenneth Young and 3 sisters, Geraldine, Caroline and Bernice. She is survived by 4 sons, James Swartz, Barry (Antoinette) Gallagher, Russell (Margie) Gallagher, and Donald (Frances) Swartz, 2 daughters, Mary Reynolds and Gloria Jackson, her sister, Bonavee, and 3 brothers, Robert, James and Leroy Young. Ruth had an undeniable love for the Lord and was a Godly example for her 8 children, 27 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 36 great great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 10:30-11:30 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to Pagano Funeral Home.
