Obituary of Nancy D. Tomcufcik

Nancy "Anne" Regina (Dombroski) Tomcufcik, 90, passed away on July 30, 2021, in Glen Mills, PA. Nancy was born on August 4, 1930, in Nanticoke, PA, to the late Harry Mark Dombroski and Jeanne Corrigan Dombroski. After graduating from Nanticoke High School, Nancy earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from College Misericordia in Dallas, PA in 1952.

At her first post-college job at Lederle Laboratories in Bound Brook, NJ, Nancy met her late husband of 51 years, Andrew Tomcufcik, when they were both members of the company's bowling league. After starting their family in Tappan, NY, Nancy and Andy moved to Old Tappan, NJ where they lived for over 30 years until all their children were grown. During this time, Nancy was an award-winning teacher of chemistry and other sciences at Rosary Academy, Sparkill, NY and The Academy of the Holy Angels, Demarest, NJ. She was also very active in the local parish – St. Pius X – as a Eucharistic minister and participated and led many Cursillo retreat weekends.

In retirement, Nancy and Andy moved to Fox Hill Farms in Glen Mills, PA, where she was an active leader in the community and was an avid bridge player. After her husband passed in 2005, Nancy moved to Maris Grove where she was president of the Residents Advisory Committee and continued her bridge playing.

Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers Harry Dombroski and Robert Dombroski. She is survived by daughters Marian Flattery, Gina Murray (Tim) and Elaine Miller (Greg); sons Andrew Thomson (Carol) and Robert Thomson (Regina); 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, 9:45-10:15AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
