Obituary of George B. Krippahne

George B. Krippahne, age 88, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on June 28, 2021 at home. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, he previously resided in Bear, DE for 30 years and Newark, DE for 16 years before moving to Glen Mills. He was the son of Ann and George Krippahne. George graduated from the University of Miami, Class of 1956, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. George worked as a Rail and Rate Logistician for the DuPont Company for over 30 years. He volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware for 20 years. George was an avid golfer, skier, and enjoyed relaxing in hot tubs. He loved working on renovating his homes. Most of all, he adored and loved the time spent with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Joanne J. Krippahne, his children: Kathryn (Denes) Kassai, Karen (Bruce) Vickroy, and Daniel (Christine) Krippahne, 9 grandchildren: Sarah, Denis, Lindsay, Gina, Jeanette, Mike, Matt, Jon, and Olivia, 3 great grandchildren: Sammy, Madeline, and Claire, and sister, Carol (John) Healy. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA. The funeral service is from 11 AM to 12 PM at Maris Grove. Specific directions to the chapel will be provided at the Maris Grove Gatehouse. Interment will follow at approximately 2:15 PM at All Saints Cemetery (Rosary Garden), Wilmington, DE. Donations in his memory (in lieu of flowers) may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware (www.RMHDE.org) or the Maris Grove Resident Care Fund.
