Obituary of Mary Starrantino

Mary Starrantino, age 91 of Linwood, PA passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2021. Born to Joseph & Antoinette Chieffo in Marcus Hook, PA, Mary has resided in Linwood, PA for over 65 years. She was a graduate of Ridley Park High School. In addition to raising her 5 children, Mary retired from Linwood Elementary after 10 years as a Teacher's Aide. She had previously worked at Penn Oaks Golf Club for 20 years where she worked her way from waitress to General Manager. Devoted to her faith, she was a faithful and active member of Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church, and later Holy Rosary in Claymont, DE. She also belonged to the Lourdes Seniors Club at Holy Rosary. Mary's love was unconditional, not only to her family, but to those who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and family gatherings. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. In her early years, Mary was a member of several bowling leagues. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Samuel Starrantino who died in 2011, and 4 siblings, Nick, Ben & Tony Chieffo and Connie Dennis. Mary is survived by her 5 children, Rita DeAngelis and husband Larry, Angela Lyons and husband Dave, Jo Fleischaker and husband Bill, Annette Starrantino and husband Tim Hall, and Sam Starrantino and wife Sherrie, a sister, Josephine Caramanico, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on July 2, Friday, 5-7PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10:30AM at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes, West 8th St., Marcus Hook, PA. Interment, Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
