Obituary of Carolyn Mae Komar

Carolyn M. Komar, age 84 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away at Naamans Creek Country Manor on May 29, 2021. Born to Howard P. and Margaret M. Pieninick Birney in Chester, PA and raised in Trainer, Carolyn had resided in Garnet Valley for the past 50+ years. She worked in her younger days as a Phlebotomist for several area doctors. Carolyn was a member of Trainer United Methodist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts such as sewing, knitting, crocheting. Carolyn was an avid horse lover, she owned both trollers and pacer horses and enjoyed her times at Brandywine Race Track. Carolyn liked golfing and traveling to Maggie Valley. She enjoyed time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Wasyl Komar; two daughters, Kim (Ed) Smitheman and Debbie Prein (Clint); four grandchildren, Jayme, Ronald, Zachary and Ashley; three great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Charliegh, and Daxx; her sister, Marilyn Edmundson.
