Obituary of Raymond J. LaSpada

Raymond "Ray" J. LaSpada, age 67 of Bear, DE passed away on May 23, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at home. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Ray resided in Bear, DE for the past 14 years. Ray graduated from Concord High School in 1972 and was the owner of LaSpada's Original Steaks and Hoagies, which had locations in Aston, Parkside, and New Castle, DE. Afterwards, Ray was employed by Kimberly Clark, where he worked for the past 16 years. Ray was a member of the Church of the Holy Child in Wilmington, DE and enjoyed going to the beach, golfing, watching the Phillies win, socializing and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John and Yolanda (Moretti) LaSpada, Ray is preceded in death by his grandson, John Thomas LaSpada. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine (Seamen) LaSpada, four children, John W. (Carrie Ann) LaSpada, Michael T.S. LaSpada, Jaclyn (Christopher) DiMascio and Nicole P. (Todd) Zamzow, brother, John (Mary) LaSpada and five grandchildren, Emily J. LaSpada, Joseph M. LaSpada, Thomas G. LaSpada, Elizabeth "Ellie" A. DiMascio and Derek C. DiMascio. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27 from 9-10AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10AM. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Aston, PA.
