Obituary of James Cleaver

James Cleaver, age 90 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on May 12, 2021 at home. Born and raised in Collingdale, PA, Jim has resided in Maris Grove since 2008, previously residing in Glenolden, PA. Jim served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was the Vice President for Plumbmaster in Concordville for many years before his retirement. Jim was active at the Maris Grove community and was involved in the Veterans Club there. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and the VFW Post 5428 in Collingdale. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife and traveling the country in their RV. Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Joan C. Hewitt Cleaver who passed in 2014, a brother, John "Jack" Cleaver, who passed in 2018 and a grandson, Daniel Cleaver who passed tragically in 2019. He is survived by 8 children; James Cleaver (Bonnie), Joan Cleaver (Tom Simms), Tom Cleaver (Gail), Kathy Cleaver, Ann Huffenberger (Jeff), Diane Cleaver, Linda Coe (Andrew) and Bill Cleaver (Vickie), 3 sisters; Frances Moyer, Carole Dougherty and Maria Conden, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A visitation will be held on May 15, Saturday, 9-10AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by services at 10:00AM. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to either the Maris Grove Scholars' Fund or the Maris Grove Staff Appreciation Fund at Maris Grove Office of Philanthropy, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
