Obituary of William H. Schatz Jr.

William H. Schatz Jr., age 68 of Wilmington, DE passed away on April 15, 2021 peacefully at home. Born in Chester, PA, he resided in Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Garnet Valley, PA and Thornbury Twp. William graduated from Concord High School, Class of 1970 and attended DelTech, ultimately earning a business management degree from Neumann College in Aston, PA. William worked for Boeing in Ridley Park for over 35 years, retiring in 2014.  He held various positions, most notable as an International Program Manager for Pacific Rim countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea and Japan supporting the Chinook Program.  He traveled extensively all over the world and enjoyed all types of music, especially live music, singing, and playing pool. A Corvette enthusiast, his favorite was his 62’ Stingray. Bill was an avid watcher of Star Trek, Mash, Seinfeld, Country Western movies, and lets not forget Gunsmoke. He raised his family in Garnet Valley before moving to Thornbury Twp. and relocated to Delaware after retirement.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.  William is preceded in death by his father, William H. Schatz Sr. He is survived by 4 children; Lisa Marie Schatz, Bill (Rachel) Schatz III, Francis J. Schatz (Kirsten Pedrick) and Krista Lynn Schatz, his mother, Catherine "Mickey" Schatz, 5 grandchildren; Billy, Brayden, Gage, Grayson and Frankie, 2 siblings; Joseph Schatz and Kathleen Barlow,  and his companion of 17 years, Wirawan "Oy".  A visitation will be held on Monday, April 26 from 9:30-11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by Funeral Services at 11:00AM.
