Obituary of John J. Marchetti

John J. Marchetti, age 90, of Glen Mills, PA passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was born to Gennaro and Agnes Bradley Marchetti in Philadelphia, PA. John has resided in Fox Hill Farms for the past 23 years and previously resided in Broomall where he raised his family. He graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Finance & Accounting from Drexel University. John served his country as a U.S. Veteran in the Marine Corp. during the Korean conflict. He worked as an accountant for 13 years with Glaxo Smith Kline Pharmaceutical and prior, Lee Tires for 12 years until they closed. Devoted to his faith, he was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports, especially the Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles. John loved traveling, completing puzzles and the challange of Sudoku. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Harry Benckert, Eleanor Purdy, Lauretta Collinson, John G. Marchetti and Clarise Hartmann. John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Anna C. Gerace Marchetti; his son, Andrew (Michele) Marchetti; his daughter, Sue Ann (Craig) Snyder; his two grandchildren, Cori Lynn Snyder and Sean Craig Snyder; his two sisters, Anne Oskowis and Jean Walters, a sister-in-law, Margaret Gerace, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 9:30-10:45 AM at the St. Cornelius Cathoic Church, 160 Ridge Rd, Chadds Ford, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
