Obituary of George Beasley

George Beasley, age 82 of Thornton, PA passed away on April 15, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 23, 1938 in Newport News, VA. The son of Marion and Sara Rosso Beasley, they eventually moved to the Philadelphia area. George resided for the past 45 years in Thornton, PA, previously residing in Wallingford, PA. He graduated from St. James High School for Boys, Class of 1957. After graduation George went to work for the Steamfitters Local 420, working his way up to foreman, and retiring in 1997 at the age of 58 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. A loyal member of the Knights of Columbus Olde St. Thomas Council 11051, he would donate much of his time to charitable causes which included cook-offs for the homeless in Kensington. In his earlier years he was a volunteer at the Prospect Park Fire Company. He also was a horseman and was an avid rider and fox hunter. George also enjoyed fishing and going to Longwood Gardens with his son. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Madeline Koreny Beasley, son, David Beasley, 3 brothers, Edwin (Diana), Phillip (Deborah), and James (Marilyn) Beasley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
