Obituary of Theresa M. Kistler

Theresa M. Kistler, OFS, age 92, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021 at her home. Born and raised in Tuscarora, PA, she was the daughter of Thomas and Irene (Kelly) Tuite.  Theresa graduated from Tamaqua High School, class of 1946 and received her Associates Degree from Neumann College.  She was the Dietician and ran the Dietary Department at Sacred Heart Hospital for over 30 years prior to retiring. Theresa had resided in Rehoboth Beach for the past six years; previously residing in Linwood, PA and Chester, PA. She was a member of the former Holy Saviour Catholic Church and then St. John Fisher Parish. Theresa was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Theresa was devoted to her Catholic faith. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help others.  She enjoyed traveling to Italy, Ireland, Canada and Mexico. She also took interest in researching family genealogy. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Kistler, who passed in 1995; two sons, Gregory Kistler who passed in 1975 and James Kistler who passed in 1984 and a brother, Thomas Tuite Jr. Theresa is survived by her four sons, John (Karen) Kistler, Thomas (Sarah) Kistler, Joseph Kistler and Kevin (Kim) Kistler; ten grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 9AM-10:15AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave, Boothwyn, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow at 2pm St. Bertha Cemetery, Tamaqua, PA.  Donations in her honor may be made to the St. Katherine Region of the Secular Franciscan Order, 408 Custer Ave., Glenolden PA 19036.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com
