Obituary of Frances R. Rosica

Frances R. Rosica, age 89, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Philadelphia to Antonio and Caroline Mastrantonio Brigandi, Frances resided in the North Wilmington area for the past three years, previously residing in the Parkview Community in Upper Chichester, PA. Fran worked at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia for over 25 years in the laundry department retiring in the mid 1990's. She was devoted to her Catholic Faith and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, however she cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Fran was well known for her cooking, especially her meatballs and her Sunday Chicken Cutlets. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Rosica who passed in 1992; her three brothers, Anthony Brigandi, Jr., Frank Brigandi, and Joseph Brigandi; and her sister, Rose Marie Cordero. Frances is survived by her daughter, Maryann (Robert) Coates; son, Bernie (Renee) Rosica, six grandchildren, James Coates, Kevin Coates, Tara Coates, Danielle Strano, Christopeher (Lindsey) Strano, and Megan Rosica; five great grandchildren, Destinee, Isabella, Alyssa, Shea and Christopher; brother, Richard (Betty) Brigandi, and her sister, Anna Iacobelli. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, from 9:15 to 10:15AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Rd. Chadds Ford, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment, Valley Forge Memorial Garden, King of Prussia, PA. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor at (www.littlesistersofthepoordelaware.org).
