Obituary of Margaret M. McNeal

Margaret M. McNeal 72, fondly known as "Hubba", passed away peacefully on August 6, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family. Hubba was born in Eddystone PA, graduated from Eddystone High School in 1961 and remained there until her children were grown. She was a constant volunteer within the community and for many years enjoyed coaching girls basketball. In her early years, up until 1980 she worked for E.I. DuPont, then 20 years in the air freight industry and most recently with the Chichester School District. She moved to Garnet Valley in 2007. Hubba was an avid bowler, loved all sports, and was a devoted Eagles fan. Anyone who knew better would not disturb her during game time. Her heart was devoted to friends and family. She looked forward to Saturday morning 'Breakfast Club' with the gang, and she was rarely seen without her "bestie", Barbara "Bubbles" Pierce, who was her constant companion. Hubba was kind, caring and a devoted friend, family member and most importantly mother. Her fondest memories were traveling the country during summer vacations with her family. She was soft spoken with a quiet peaceful spirit and will be sorely missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Catherine O'Brien Carpenter & 2 sisters, Sarah Boyle & Barbara Posey. Hubba is survived by 3 children, Bill McNeal, Joseph (Denise) McNeal & Dana (Pete) Balandiak, 2 siblings, Pete Carpenter & Beatrice "Chicken" Carpenter, 6 grandchildren, Josh McNeal, Steve Howells, Chris (April) Howarth, P.J., Steph & Pat Balandiak, also several nieces & nephews.
