Obituary of Joseph A. Catina

Joseph A. Catina, age 99, of Chadds Ford, PA passed away on December 27, 2020 at Barclay Friends, West Chester, PA. Born in Mechanicsville, PA and raised in Cumberland, MD; he was a resident of Chadds Ford for over 60 years. Joseph was a son of Pasquale and Domenica Carpenti Catina and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a founding member of St. Cornelius parish and was retired with Steamfitters UA Local 420. Joseph enjoyed dancing with his wife, gardening and visiting Longwood Gardens. He had a love of horticulture. In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years of marriage, Florina C. Catina who passed in 2010 and was the last and the youngest of his six siblings. Joseph is survived by his two sons, Joe L. (Kathryn) Catina and Peter D. Catina; his grandson, Michael Anthony Catina. Services and interment will be private.
