To the family of Mr. Eddie,
So sorry I could not attend the service today but I watched the live video. It brought tears to my eyes to hear all the speeches. He was such a wonderful man that was loved by all. His life was so full and there were so many happy memories. He is probably in his happy place now (surrounded by beach & sand). I know how much he loved the water. I remember after the one cruise that we stayed an extra day in Fort Lauderdale and he was in the ocean for hours. Cherish all the memories because they are yours to keep forever!
Love, Theresa

Dear Connie and Family,
What a beautiful service for your father! Your eulogy was funny and full of warmth and love. I really didn't know your dad (which is ALL on me) but listening to the things that you and the girls spoke about gave me a tiny glimpse of what a special man he was and how much he truly loved all of you. I hope that will bring you comfort in the difficult months ahead and that it brings a smile to your face in the time beyond that.
There is no doubt in my mind that as your dad watched from above, he smiled from ear to ear as you all sang the Laurence Welk show closing song! That was the sweetest thing ever!
It certainly won't be the same walking by the blue and white awning and not seeing your dad sitting there enjoying all the comings and goings. I know he'll be missed my many.
My most sincere condolences to all of you.
-Susan (Albright) Lamb

Ahh Mr. Eddie, I will miss you. I was a mere 18 years old when we met and you have been a part of my family since. What a life you lived - a marine, a firefighter and then a day care chef. :)
I can honestly say I don't know a man that has had such a courageous career yet was gentle enough to feed (60) 2-5 year old's sandwiches and whatever else they desired.
You were a friend to my parents and grandmother, pop pop to our girls and our friend. Our American Idol night dinners will always hold a special part in my heart - mostly because of the laughter my grandmother brought to the evening.
You were my Penn State and Eagles fan - watching the Super Bowl Victory is one of the highlights of my life, we partied together most New Year's Eve's and you put most of us to shame with what great shape you were in.
2020 - I hope you know that you were thought of every day - Coronovirus stopped us from having our dinners and hanging out but you were always in my heart. The best day I had in 2020, was spending my birthday with you and Mama Rhoads. Those were tears of joy.
RIP Mr. Eddie, what an amazing life you lived. Give my mom and dad a hug. We will love you forever and are so very thankful to have spent an amazing 35+ years with you in our lives.

From the days riding in the back of your station wagon to the beach to seeing you so enjoy the grandchildren (and now great grandson) so much, Edward you were an icon. You will be so missed, but a man like you will not be forgotten. All my love and prayers, Connie & Brenda and family.

Poppop,
I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs about how much you meant to me and how much I love you but I will keep this short, sweet, and to the point.
I love you, I miss you, I would do anything in this world to have you back if even just for a second. No, I’m not alright........ I’m half left :)
Hope you are having fun up there with Uncle Joe, and I will see you again one day.
Love,
April

Great Poppop,
I love you so much and will miss you very much. I had a lot of fun with you in just the one short year that we had together and enjoyed being silly together all of the time. I will miss playing with you and our FaceTime calls when we couldn’t be together in person... it’s a good thing we both figured out how to use technology to figure out how to video call each other :)
Love,
Your “Pretty Boy” (aka your favorite great grandson, Cooper)

You were almost my Dad. We met briefly in November 1961 . You considered adopting me into your family. Mom , wasn't able to watch from the sidelines..
I love you for that offer . The years went by and eventually we were brought back together. With the help of a private dective , if I couldn't find my mom, I new I would find her brother .. I found the Rhoads Family about 25 years ago. Found my mom Doris and the rest of her extended family. . My life is complete I have 2 families . Brenda , Connie and the rest of the Rhoads family Im so sorry. Edward was an American Hero he served in the Marines and as a fireman. A Family man . Im glad we were reintroduce may you rest in peace

Dad, I am having a hard time believing that you are no longer here with us. You were the center of all our worlds. You touched so many lives in so many ways and you did it all while never asking for a thing in return. You taught us the meaning of humble and kind. You devoted your life to making everyone you knew happy and you always took time to listen. From the time Joe and I were little kids, you made sure we were always together going places, Our Saturday drives to wherever the car took us (Ocean City, Lancaster, etc.). You always made sure that we spent time with our Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Summertime was spent enjoying White Crystal Beach. When I got married, dancing with you to Daddy's Little Girl was one of my most special moments. Then when Holly, April, Joey & Chris came along, they became the center of your world and there was nothing you wouldn't do to spend time with them. You taught them all your little funny jokes - you taught them the love of music and shared some special ones with them.....On the Way to Cape May. Last October when "Pretty Boy"( as you loved to say to him) Cooper, came along, he quickly zipped to the top of the list of your true loves in life. In just the short year you got to spend with him, he learned so much from you. I am sure even though you are not here, Cooper will always feel your love and presence.
Dad, I hope you are enjoying being with Joe and all of the others in our family that have gone before you again. I will miss you more than words can ever express.
Thank you for being my friend, companion, right (haha left) hand man (since you were left-handed), always someone to count on but most of all for being the best dad I could have every asked for in this world.
Love you forever and ever. You are not truly gone, you live on in my heart and the heart of so many others. Rest in peace (and if you feel like it raise some ruckus).
