Obituary of Walter Richard Dickerson

Walter R. Dickerson, age 88 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away on December 18, 2020 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born to Walter & Virginia Dickerson in Ridley Park, Walter has resided the past 15 years in Bethel Twp., previously residing in Aston, PA. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Walter retired from Sun Oil in Marcus Hook where he worked for over 35 years, he later worked at JC Penney for several years. Walt was a member of Mount Hope U.M. Church for over 50 years. He belonged to the Concord Masonic Lodge, 625 F&AM, and was also a member of the Sun Oil Honor Club. Walt enjoyed model trains and coin collecting. He also enjoyed vacationing, whether it was at his mountain home or vacationing in Hawaii where he and his wife visited 28 times. In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by a son, William W. Dickerson who died in 2011 and a sister, Eleanor George. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Engelke Dickerson, children, Thomas R. (Joy) Dickerson and Carolyn M. (Richard) Bradford, grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob & Sarah Dickerson and Grace Bradford and a great grandson, Cole Walsh. Services & Interment will remain private.
