Obituary of Dorothy H. Mariani

Dorothy H. Mariani, age 97, of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020. She was born in 1923 to Emmett and Mary Jackson Herr at Pleasant Grove Farm in Peach Bottom, PA. Dorothy was a resident of Holmes in Ridley Township for 62 years before residing the last 13 years at Maris Grove Senior Living. Dorothy earned her Bachelor's Degree from Millersville State Teachers College and taught kindergarten at Holmes Presbyterian Church from 1965 to 1974. She later became a sales clerk for Bamberger's (Macy's) Department Store in the Springfield Mall. Devoted to her faith, she was a member of the Holmes Presbyterian Church for 72 years. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene L. Mariani who passed away in 2006, and five siblings. Dorothy is survived by her three children; Joan L. Dreyer, Anita Martineau, and Eugene "Gene" L. Mariani, Jr; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Services will be announced at a later date.
