Obituary of Carmine J. Coniglio

Born in Sicily, Italy, Carmine came to the United States at the age of 2 and was raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Carmine had resided in the Foxfield community for 14 years, previously residing for 40 years in Kings Park, NY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany at the end of the Korean Conflict. As a business owner, Carmine operated his own sanitation business. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Child. Carmine cherished time spent with his wife, children, and grandsons. He burst with pride when discussing any of his grandsons. He was an avid and devoted sports fan, both necessary qualities when your favorite professional teams are the New York Mets & Jets. Carmine enjoyed participating in billiards leagues and playing cards in the Foxfield community for many years. In addition to his parents, Mariano and Cologera Veneziani Coniglio, Carmine was preceded in death by his four siblings, Nicholas Coniglio, Josephine DeCabia, Loretta Cocchiaro, and his twin brother, Paul Coniglio. He is survived by his wife, Betty Coniglio; sons, Mario (Laurie) Coniglio and Nicholas (Susan Wideman) Coniglio; his daughter, Susan (Robert) Callahan; six grandchildren, Brennan and Collin Coniglio, Michael, Matthew, and Aiden Callahan, and Connor Coniglio.
