Obituary of Dolores A. Sminkey

Dolores A. "Dee" Sminkey, age 82 passed away on August 25, 2020 at Christiana Hospital. She was born and raised in Mahanoy City, PA to her late parents, Walter and Connie Luzusky Shelinsky. She resided in Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Southwest Philadelphia. Dolores worked as a waitress for many years. As an active member of the Church of the Holy Child, she was devoted to her Catholic faith. In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Robert Shelinsky and Karen Dempsey. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack R. Sminkey, 2 daughters; Brenda Barchock, and Carol (John) Rosiak, a son, Jack E. Sminkey, 5 grandchildren; Rick Barchock, Amanda Rosiak, Jack (Trish) Barchock, Lauren Rosiak, and Marie Sminkey, and a Great Granddaughter; Lily Sminkey. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2nd from 9:30-10:30am at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA 19060. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11am at Church of the Holy Child in Wilmington, DE. Interment will remain private.
