Obituary of Gary John Anderson

Gary J. Anderson, age 67 of West Chester, PA passed away unexpectedly at Chester County Hospital on July 1, 2020. Born in Chester, PA and raised in Concordville, PA, Gary had resided in West Chester for the past 20 years. Gary was the son of the late George and Jean Bolden Anderson. He graduated from Garnet Valley High School, Class of 1970; received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from West Chester University. After college, he coached football at Duke University and later was the Assistant Athletic Director at West Chester University. With his football background, Gary was instrumental in bringing the Philadelphia Eagles summer training camp to West Chester University. At the start of the BYC program, Gary was one of the first football coaches. He enjoyed his time sailing, especially in the Chesapeake Bay and he had a love of flying, holding a pilot's license and owning his own plane. He owned & operated his own business, Valtech Surgical Imaging, a company he founded after working in sales for G.E. Medical. As a hobby, he also enjoyed investing in real estate and renovating those properties. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vali Mantegna Anderson, children, Keli and Eric Anderson, and his brother, George Anderson and wife Bonnie. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 6-8PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA and again on Tuesday from 9-10AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10AM.
