Obituary of Josephine Simms
Josephine Simms, age 95, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Raised in Marcus Hook, PA, she was the daughter of Angelo and Josephine Fiumara Starrantino. Josephine lived in Claymont, DE for many years prior to moving to The Summit Assisted Living Community four years ago. Prior to retiring, she was the bookkeeper for Penn Oaks Golf Club, West Chester, PA. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron "Ernie" Simms, who died in 2014; her two brothers, Jack and Samuel Starrantino, and her four sisters, Mary Sgro, Millie, Rose and Jen Starrantino. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Mary Komdat and husband Erich, three grandsons, Ricky (Marcy) Komdat, Dan (Kristen) Komdat and Jeff Komdat, her great grandson, Braden Komdat, and her sister in law, Mary Starrantino. A public DRIVE-THRU visitation will be held for all on Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 9:30AM to 10:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA. Due the COVID 19 pandemic, family , friends and relatives will be asked to form a drive-thru receiving line beginning at 9:30AM in the funeral home parking lot. A private Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine will follow at 10:30AM and be LIVESTREAMED from St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Chadds Ford, PA by visiting (www.paganofuneralhome.com) or via Facebook (search Pagano Funeral Home). Interment will remain private at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
