Obituary of Edna F. Slater

Edna F. Slater, age 93 of Glen Mills, PA passed on May 13, 2020 at Penn Medicine Hospice, West Chester, PA. Born to the late Arthur and Frances Friedline Karcher in Pittsburgh, PA, she resided for the past 12 years in the Maris Grove Community in Glen Mills, PA previously residing in Chambersberg, OH, Uniontown, PA and Pittsburgh, PA. A homemaker, Edna was a tax preparer, and in her earlier years, she worked as a teacher. Edna enjoyed volunteering at Longwood Gardens, local hospitals, fund-raising golf tournaments and at Maris Grove. In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, J. Dick Slater who passed in 2017. She is survived by 3 sons, James Richard (Elyse) Slater, Jonathan Kevin (Polly) Slater and Jauffre' Todd (Jean) Slater, 5 siblings, Norma Rennie, Robert Karcher, Edmund Karcher, Richard Karcher and Carole Knee and 2 granddaughters, Lauren and Hilary Slater.
