Obituary of Karl Koveal

Karl Korba Koveal, Sr., age 62, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Glen Mills, PA, passed suddenly on Thursday, April 23rd, 2020. Karl attended Penncrest High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Karl worked for State Farm Insurance for twenty-six years and Vanguard for six. Karl had a passion for music. He played bass in a punk band when he was at college, and he passed that love of music onto his children. Karl was a lifelong animal lover who frequently rescued and fostered animals from the SPCA. He was a huge fan of Philly sports and at one time or another held season tickets for the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers. Karl grew up as a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chester, PA, where he was an altar boy in his youth. Karl is preceded in death by his parents, Russell J. Sr. and Doris Korba Koveal and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy Ratliff Koveal, daughter, Holly Koveal, son, Karl Koveal Jr., step son, Aden Koveal, 2 brothers, Russell (Paulette) Koveal Jr. and Stephan (Ann Marie) Koveal, 3 grandchildren, Evan, Avery and Mia Paez.
