Obituary of Elsie Mae Lawton

Elsie M. Lawton, age 91, a longtime resident of Wilmington, left us peacefully on Thursday, April 16,2020. Elsie was born in Woodlyn, PA on June 14, 1928, a daughter of the late George and Rebecca Evans Clayton. She had worked at the American Viscose Corporation, Chester PA; Brandywine Raceway, the Rollins Company and Delle Donne and Associations in Wilmington, PA. She was known for her great sense of humor and love of her friends and she especially loved her family. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry (Sonny) Lawton in 2003 and her son, Lewis Lawton. She is survived by her son, Vernon Lawton; her daughter in law, Judy Lawton; her grandson's. Christopher, Matthew and Andrew Lawton; and her great granddaughter, Meiling Lawton. Interment will be private due to the coronavirus pandemic.
