Obituary of Richard R. Hazzard

Richard R. Hazzard, age 77 of Garnet Valley, PA passed peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on April 6, 2020. Born in Ridley Park, PA, Richard resided for the past 32 years in Garnet Valley, PA. Richard graduated from Chester High School class of 1961 and served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. A foreman, Richard worked for Delcora in Chester for 22 years, retiring in 2012. Previously he was employed by Westinghouse in Lester for 24 years. Richard was devoted to his home and family and enjoyed handyman work around the house. A lifelong "Ford man", he had a passion for building, racing, and repairing cars. Richard loved being in the sunshine, whether at the shore or enjoying nature in his own backyard. In addition to his parents, Stanley and Minnie Warrington Hazzard, Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Jane Hazzard and a brother, Stanley Hazzard. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lois E. Hazzard, 2 children, Eileen (Charles) Keller and Katie (Kirk Bailey) Hazzard, sister, Trudy Copley and brother, James Hazzard, sister-in-law, Paula (Steve Geary) Clark, 3 grandchildren, Brendan, Matthew and Noah Keller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
