Obituary of Michelle M. Rooney

Michelle M. (Mumley) Rooney, age 58 of Wilmington, DE passed away on February 16, 2020 at home with her husband and children by her side. Born to William and Margaret "Peg" (Wolf) Mumley, in Philadelphia and raised in Upland, PA, she resided for the past 25 years in Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Chichester and Upland. Until her illness, Michelle was a secretary for Amacoil in Aston, PA and previously worked as an office manager for Michael Francis Chiropractic for 10 years. She graduated from Notre Dame High School class of 1979, and was a member of Valley Point Church where she was a greeter. She enjoyed sitting on the beach in the sun, and reading. Most of all, she loved laughing with her family and sharing her faith. In addition to her parents, Michelle is preceded in death by her sister, Christine May; brothers in law, Kevin May and Joseph Whalen. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael S. Rooney Sr. and 3 children, Kara (Steve) Grubb, Erin (David) Powlison and Michael Rooney Jr.; 5 siblings, William (Julie) Mumley, Glenn Mumley, Paul (Cindy) Mumley, Margaret Whalen and Mary (Robert) Greenhalgh; also many nieces and nephews.
