Obituary of Geraldine M. Wenerd

Geraldine M. Wenerd, age 79 of Wilmington, DE passed away on February 16, 2020 at Manor Care Health, Wilmington, DE. Born, raised and educated in Philadelphia, she resided for the past 20 years in North Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Ridley Park, PA. Geraldine worked in the billing department for Nemous/Alfred I. DuPont Children Hospital for over 10 years retiring in 2005. She attended Church of the Holy Child, and served on the board of Old Colonial Village Community where she once resided. "Gerry with a G" as she was known by all her friends and family enjoyed family vacations to Florida, Nags Head, NC, playing cards, OCV Happy Hours (Cosmos), fishing (especially in Brigantine, NJ) cooking and entertaining, going to Anthony's for Wednesday Happy Hour but most of all being with her children and grandchildren. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lillian Erne and sister, Carol Barbera. She is survived by 3 children, Richard Wenerd, Jacklyn (Tracy Jensen) Wenerd and David (Lisa) Wenerd, 7 grandchildren, Meagan, David Jr., Mallory, Adam Samuel, Hanna and Luke, 2 great grandchildren, Leila and Jason Jr. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, 1-2PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a 2:00PM memorial service. Interment is private. Donations in her memory may be made to St Jude Children Research Hospital.
