Obituary of John J. Candidi

John J. Candidi, age 80 of Garnet Valley, PA died peacefully on June 11, 2016 at home. Born in Philadelphia, he was raised in S.W. Philadelphia. John has resided the past 2 years in Garnet Valley, PA, previously residing in Cape May, NJ and S.W. Philadelphia. He worked as a tailor presser for 35 years retiring in 1996. In addition, he was a school bus driver in Philadelphia and a drove a truck for the Philadelphia Inquirer. John was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, opera music, baseball, football and was active as Little League coach in his earlier years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic R. and Angelina Anziano Candidi and 4 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie P. Candidi (nee) Davey, 4 children, Lorraine (Samuel) Ricco, Gina M. (Michael) Trovarelli, John A. (Vicky Petti) Candidi and Marc B. (Michele) Candidi, 3 siblings, Marie A. and Americo Candidi and Elizabeth Warrington, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass on Thursday, 10:30AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA where friends may call from 9:00-10:15AM.
