Obituary of Theodore J. Schaefer, Jr.

Theodore J. Schaefer, Jr., age 79 of Upper Chichester, PA passed away on January 2, 2020 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Born to Theodore J. and Elizabeth Williams Schaefer in Scranton, PA, he resided the past 43 years in Upper Chichester, PA, previously residing in Trainer, PA. He served his country in the Army during Peacetime. Theodore was currently employed by Ricoh for 20 years as an analyst in Exton, PA. Devoted to his faith, Theodore was an active member of the Church of the Holy Child serving as an usher, and played an active role as part of the Holy Child Liturgy Committee. He also served on the Anniversary and Picnic Committees. He was a member of the local American Legion and VFW, however his true passion was his wife and home. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Judy Jacobsen and Richard Schaefer. Theodore is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary "Betty" "Lizzy" Wright Schaefer, a sister, Linda (Donald) Chew of Oxford, PA, a brother-in-law, Eric Jacobsen of Smyrna, DE, nieces and nephews; Lauri (Fred) Phillips, Donna (Kirk) Truman, Susan (Jimmy) Stevenson, Robert (Tammy) Chew, Bryan (Dorine) Chew, and Michael (Rachel) Jacobsen and 13 grand nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, 11AM at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810. Inurnment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilm., DE.
