Obituary of Timothy Scott Powell

Timothy "Scott" Powell, age 59 of Boothwyn, PA, a devoted husband, father, and pop-pop passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 17, 2019 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born to John and Nancy Hester-Powell in Chester, PA and resided in Boothwyn, PA. He graduated from Chichester High School in 1978. Scott was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Chester Lodge DeMolay. He most recently worked as a security technician for ADT into retirement as a fulltime Pop-pop.

Scott known for his big heart, bright mind, and infectious smile enjoyed day trips to Lancaster PA, drawing, playing pool, and traveling. Tuesday night movies, concerts, and spending time with family especially his grandchildren. He was also an avid fan of Elton John, often caught listening to his records too loud. He was known to be a human GPS, to his daughter Alicia who was always lost.

Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Hester-Powell. He is survived by his father John Powell, devoted wife of 38 years, Malinda "Mindy" Powell, children; Adam Powell, Alicia Powell, and Alexis (Kyle) Ogden, sister, Joanne (Thomas) Woods, grandchildren; Aubrey and Everett Ogden. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephew. 

Scott was a wonderful man who was loved by all who knew him. Our love for him will continue to live through our memories forever. 

Services will remain private with a Celebration of Life to be arranged at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org).
