Obituary of Anna Iwachiw Vadino

Anna Iwachiw Vadino, of Chester Heights, PA passed away June 3, 2016 surrounded by those she loved. Born in Chester, PA to the late Theodore Iwachiw, Sr and Maria Iwachiw, Anna graduated from Dickinson College, majoring in Political Science and Sociology and Temple Law School. A proud member of the Delaware County Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar, Anna worked as a Mental Health Review Officer for the County of Delaware. She was passionate about advocating for those in the mental health system and providing them with dignity and respect. Early on in her career, she was an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County and a solicitor for Tinicum Township. She was a member of several organizations, including the Justinian Society; League of Ukrainian Women; the Inn of Court; the "Order of the Door;" and various others. An avid traveler, Anna enjoyed exploring the world and loved to meet new people and experience new cultures. Her favorite countries were Greece, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Austria and especially visiting her son, Gregg in Rome, Italy. She was a friend and mentor to many and inspired those around her to be the best they could be. Her greatest accomplishment was raising and educating her three children and she loved being a Babi (grandmother) more than anything else in the world and spending as much time with her grandkids. She was married to her true love, the late Nicholas D. Vadino, Jr. Esq. and was preceded in death by her sister, Daria I. Korotko and brother, Theodore Iwachiw, Jr.. She is survived by her three children: Stephen P. Vadino, Sr. of Parkside, PA; Gregory D. Vadino and his wife Paola Lugli Vadino of Rome, Italy; and Nicole Vadino Rux and her husband Kenneth E. Rux of Chester Heights, PA; her nephew Michael Moroz and his wife Barbara; and her grandchildren Stephen Paul Vadino, Jr, Allison Marie Vadino, Nicholas Gregory Rux and Annika Noel Rux. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday Evening, 6-8PM and again on Tuesday 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by services at 11AM. Interment, private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to a scholarship fund at the Community College of Philadelphia (1700 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130) https://coldfusion.ccp.edu/InstAdv/AnnualFund/ for the Fox Rothschild Center for Law and Society Week (CCP Foundation/FRCL). For over a decade, Anna participated in CCP's Law Week and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the faculty, staff and students and this scholarship fund will provide funding for CCP students who wish to explore the field of law and society.
