Obituary of Francis George Piperno
Francis George Piperno, age 81 of Upper Chichester, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 12, 2019 at home. Born to Joseph & Eleanor Croce Piperno in Phila., PA, Frank has resided in Upper Chichester, PA for 24 years, previously residing in West Philadelphia. A veteran, he served proudly with the Army National Guard. Frank was a member of the Teamsters Local 115, employed by Kurtz-Hastings in Philadelphia for over 20 years retiring in 2000. He belonged to St. John Fisher Catholic Church where he attended weekly mass. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 945. Frank enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was automotive and working on his truck, woodworking or setting up his model trains. He had a passion for spending time with his wife, children & grandchildren or just the company of his cats. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Salvatore & Maria Croce and Francis & Carmella Piperno and his brother-in-law, Dennis McErlean. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vera Moore Piperno, daughters, Maria Silvestro, Kathleen Piperno & husband Joseph Tinari and Franciene Piperno, 2 grandchildren, Joseph Francis Silvestro and A.J. Tinari, a brother, Robert (Susan) Piperno, brother-in-law, Herbert, (Letitia) O'Donnell, sister-in-law, Kathleen McErlean and numerous nieces & nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, from 9:15-10:15AM at St. Thomas the Apostle (New Church), 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Donations in his memory may be made to St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA 19061.
